The world of branding and advertising is no stranger to logos, matter of fact besides the name and maybe a business model, the logo is amongst the first things a company or business will decide on as it will be possibly one of the most present things when it comes to their brand identity, wether this is on posts, letterheads, merchendise, their website etc.

But what made some of the most popular logos so popular, and more importantly, what are they?

Starbucks

Starbucks's logo is a siren, which is meant to represent their ties to the sea and to Seattle as well as to the alluring aroma and smell of coffee comparable to the myths and legends of sirens and how they'd allure people with their song, in this case Starbucks does this with their bold aromas and visually pleasing products.

The green colour was also picked with some logic behind it, with green being meant to represent freshness and setting the consumers' expectations that the products they will purchase from Starbucks will be fresh. [Source].

Amazon

The Amazon logo features the company name with an arrow that portrays a smile, meaning to represent the happiness one gets from shopping at Amazon, the placement of the arrow is also done logically, it starts at A and ends at Z, this is emphesis on how Amazon has everything and results from the saying "From A to Z" which is another meaning for esentially every word you can think of, Amazon will have something. Apple

Apple's logo represents... an apple. But there is more to it, the bite actually is there for a reason, and even then its in the name, bite, phonetically sounding the same as a computer "byte" goes back to their roots in the 80s and 90s when Apple was exclusively making computers, the logo has undergone some colour and texture changes since but the base itself has stayed the same.
